The Role of the Director
The DRE of Resurrection Parish is designated by the Pastor to administer the Parish Religious Education Program for parents and their children in grades 1-8, and is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of the catechetical program in accordance with the Guidelines of the Archdiocese of New York and implementation of the Archdiocesan safe environment guidelines.
The Role of the Catechist
The catechetical ministry is sustained by catechists - men and women of Resurrection Parish who volunteer to communicate God’s love to those entrusted to their care by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. The primary mission of catechists is to communicate God’s love to those entrusted to their care by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. The Catechist prepares for each session using the curriculum and resources provided relating the text based on their own faith experience.
The Role of the Parent
The student is invited to grow in his/her faith by regular attendance at Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation (there are six in the Archdiocese of New York), participation in the Rite of Reconciliation, and living a moral life that reflects the values and teachings of Jesus Christ.
